Which business cards give something back on AI spend?

Not many. Of the cards below, none pays a higher rate on AI vendors today. An Anthropic invoice earns whatever the card pays on everything else.

These are the terms on each company’s own site on October 30, 2026. ernd makes the ernd card, so weigh that last row however you like.

CardWhat you get on AIFine print
Amex Business Platinum or GoldUp to $300 a calendar year in statement credits on ChatGPT BusinessUS purchases only, and you have to enroll
RampCash back on every swipeNo AI rate on the card page. No annual fee
Mercury IO1.5% cash back on all of itNo interest or annual fees
ernd card4% back at AI vendors like OpenAI and Anthropic, 1.5% on the restFree to request, no annual fee. Final terms come with the card

The Amex credit is nice if your team lives in ChatGPT, but it covers one product and tops out at $300. Ramp’s more interesting offer is software. Its AI Spend Management tool pulls in usage from Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini and Cursor, and you don’t need the Ramp card to use it.

What should you check first?

How each vendor bills you. OpenAI and Anthropic API accounts can run on prepaid credits, card charges or monthly invoices, and prepaid credits behave quite differently from a normal monthly charge. Our billing guide has the details.

Then look at what kind of spend it is. Seats on ChatGPT Business or Cursor are boring and predictable. Token bills aren’t, and one product launch can move them a lot. That’s why the card limit, and being able to lock a card to one vendor, can end up mattering more than the rewards rate.

How will the ernd card work?

It’s a credit card for US companies that pay for AI. ernd negotiates partnerships across the AI stack and passes the benefits to cardholders.

Spend at AI vendors like OpenAI and Anthropic earns 4% back, and everything else earns 1.5%. Superserve, Conifer and AgentPhone earn 5%. Firecrawl gives ernd cardholders 2x usage limits, and card spend there earns the standard 1.5% back. Final terms come with the card.

OpenAI and Anthropic aren’t partners. You pay them with the ernd card the way you would with any other card.

Requesting a card is free, and any US company can do it from the ernd app. A request doesn’t guarantee you a card.
